Procedure for customs clearance of the shipment in Kuwait port.

1)      The Local agent of shipping line send Arrival notice to us once the vessel arrived in Kuwait

2)      Then we put the company stamp on arrival notice and send to our custom clearance agent.

3)      Our custom clearance agent submits three copies of original bill of lading and arrival notice with company stamp to local agent of shipping line to release the D/O.

4)      After collection the D/O from local shipping line, our custom clearance agent submits the commercial invoice & certificate of origin to ministry of Chamber of Commerce in Kuwait for legalization i.e. for attestation.

5)      After that our custom clearance agent prepares the Bayan. Bayan is a document which is to be filled online on government portal wherein details of the consignee including import/export license, commercial license, port of loading, port of discharge, destination, delivery order no, carriers name, BL no, net weight, gross weight, measurement, no of package, origin, foreign value, freight details, duty rate, total duty, clearing agent, license no etc. and pay custom duty & global inspection charges through online platform. Then our clearance agent submits the hard copy of Bayan with payment receipt to custom office for verification.

6)      If the verification is ok then our clearance agent collect the all document from the custom office and handover their deriver for loading the material from inside the port.

7)      After that the driver go to port & show the document to port authority then the port authority advise that whether the container has come in the location or not.

8)      If the container come in the location then the warehouse people load the container on the trailer and the driver paid the port charges (in port charges include the admin & loading charges) at the same time in cash & went in inspection area for the inspection the material.

9)      The inspection team inspect the material by open the box & visually inspect the material, if it is ok then the driver come outside with the material from the port and deliver the material to us or directly to the client.

Ø  The Vessel Arrived in Kuwait Port

Ø  Vessel Berth in place

Ø  The local agent sent the arrival notice for D/O collection

Ø  Attestation or legalization 

Ø  Prepare the Bayan and paid the custom duty & Global Inspection charges

Ø  Submit the all document to custom office for verification

Ø  Collect the all document from custom after verification

Ø  Handover all document to the driver for loading the material

Ø  Driver load the material and paid the port charges

Ø  Driver load the material and paid the port charges and Inspection team inspect the material

Ø  After inspection the material come outside the port and deliver

What is the D/O or D/O Charges?

 

A delivery order is a document that can be issued by the owner of freight, shipper or a carrier to deliver the goods to another party. A delivery order should be differentiated from the bill of lading. The delivery order is a non-negotiable document and it does not act as evidence or receipt of goods. The D/O charges is describe below.

1.   Once the vessel has dispatched from the port of origin, the vendor send us 3 copy of original Bill of lading in which the local agent details of shipping line is mentioned to whom we need to get in touch with to get D/O and clear our shipment.

2.   Once the vessel is arrived in Kuwait, the local agent of shipping line notifies to the consignee and send the arrival notice.

3.   All the charges mention with breakdown in the arrival notice that the charges are called D/O charges.

4.   D/O charges is not a fixed amount.

5.   It is depend on shipping line that the vendor booked the vessel from which line, there are many shipping line and everyone has different charges, please find the below some shipping line for your reference.

·         Maersk shipping line

And many more….please find the below D/O charges as per shipping line standard.

Ø  Normally D/O charges come for FCL 40 Feet 250 ~ 300 KWD.

Ø  Normally D/O charges come for FCL 20 Feet 200 ~ 250  KWD.                                                  

Ø  Normally D/O charges come for LCL shipment 100 ~ 120 KWD.

The above shown charges are non-negotiable, standard and are defined by local agent of shipping line. They can, however, give the break-up of these charges upon request.
